The Role
This role covers the production of plant extracts using techniques such as supercritical CO2 extraction, distillation and purification. Taking responsibility for the running of processing equipment in the manufacture of medicinal API's and cosmetic ingredients.
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
To be part of the production team operating key process equipment.
To liaise with the analytical team to ensure product quality is maintained.
To keep good process records of all work within the business quality management system.
Process improvement including waste minimisation and enhancement of process efficiency.
Contribute to development projects representing Production in cross functional project teams.
Work with Procurement to ensure just in time supply of materials is maintained.
Keep work area clean and tidy at all times.
Adhere to company polices and Health and Safety regulations/guidelines.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience:
Essential;
Keen interest in chemistry or biochemistry and a drive to learn new process techniques.
Minimum 'A' levels in relevant subjects
Keen eye for detail.
Problem solving skills.
Good time management skills to complete tasks within designated timeframes.
Good levels of spoken and written English; to enable effective communication and interaction with the production team
Be able to provide valid ID and an entitlement to work in the UK as full enhanced DBS checks will be processed.
UK driving licence to enable independent travel to and from work and between sites in Spalding
Desirable.
Some experience in food, cosmetics or pharmaceutical ingredient manufacture
Experience operating CO2 extraction equipment
Experience of operating in a GMP environment
A science degree would be an advantage
