Purpose of role

This role is to ensure operational plans are achieved throughout the work centres controlling workflow by creating and monitoring production schedules, while driving continuous improvement of both staff and processes feeding into and supporting the supervisory team to drive operational performance and maintain Manufacturing KPI's, while improving manufacturing process.

Roles and Responsibilities

Create and deliver short term manufacturing plans to ensure on time delivery, in full Monitor plans and resources to ensure demand is met Monitor performance and report findings and recommendations into manufacturing teams to drive Improvements. Deputise for Supervisors as required and supports production staff in training and development to mitigate skills gaps identified in the workforce.

Operational Management

Develop and implement production schedules to meet demand taking an overview of day to day and longer-term operations to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow, minimizing bottlenecks and downtime. Manage resources effectively (people, materials, equipment) to optimize production. Monitor resources and ensure demand can be achieved or adjust to suit. Escalating any concerns to the senior team. Liaise with departments and suppliers to ensure no disruption to production schedules through materials or information. Monitor production plans to ensure accuracy of operations and run times. Work with others to provide production breaks to deliver staff engagement (1-2-1 &invest) training and development. Address operational issues and challenges, developing solutions to enhance efficiency. Track and analyse performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions. Plan and support pre-emptive maintenance on machinery through planning activities. Ensure quality standards are being achieved through factory operations with regards to the product and the environment. Any other duty deemed appropriate by your line manager.
