Job Description

Responsible for:-



Undertaking daily activities involved with the safe and efficient collection, receipt, and distribution of goods both internally and externally to customers and suppliers. Adhering to set processes and systems in order to ensure goods are received, recorded and dispatched appropriately and in a timely and safe manner. To cover any driving duties at the request of company management.

Duties and responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):



Checking goods in against delivery notes for accuracy and damages Advise customer / appropriate admin staff of any missing / additional / damaged items Book items in as per quality manual and contract review in a timely manner Assist load and unload trucks and vans in line with H&S procedures Distribution of goods to / from relevant departments placing items in correct location Organise the timely and efficient return of goods to customer via the Despatch process Prepare items for dispatch ensuring correct paperwork (certificates / delivery notes/ SEN & RMA Nos / Export docs Ensure all items are appropriately and safely packaged for transit Assist in the organisation and booking of Driver schedules and Courier collection / deliveries Send items to sub contract ensuring correct paperwork / packaging and in timely manner Accept items back from sub contract ensuring correct paperwork / no damage Utilise inhouse electronic system to ensure appropriate tracking and recording of goods Assist with training of new staff Maintain departmental area and ensure tidiness and safety Upkeep of stock bubble wrap / boxes etc To promote the company at all times and maintain awareness amongst colleagues of the requirements for a professional attitude toward customers, colleagues and working practices Maintain a consistent quality system, ensuring that at all times, the methods of work are carried out in accordance with the company's quality documentation and quality manual Colleague could be asked to work from either site at Pride Park or Castings Road. To carry out any driving duties at the request of company management. This could be for Hub replenishment or for driver sickness & driver holiday cover. When using company vehicle ensure these are used inline with FORS guidelines and company policy ensuring any problems are reported to the Distribution Manager immediately Any other duties commensurate with the grade and nature of the role

Provide administrational role which conforms in every way with the detail provided in the Quality Manual and all relevant company procedures

Provide a high level of communication utilising all aspects of technology, email, telephone and face to face communication which enhances the customer and supplier experience in working with our business

Information Technology



Use and develop software to meet the jobs requirements with regards to job receipt and distribution of goods within the company and to external parties and customers.

Business Objectives



To facilitate the accurate, efficient, timely and cost effective receipt and delivery of goods internally and externally to both customers and suppliers alike. Ensure that the work flow of goods in an out of the business is effective and efficient and compliant to meet the Company's needs.

Person Specification



High levels of attention to detail; Ability to work to procedures; Good communicator; PC literate with good administration skills; Experience in manual handling and Goods In/Out preferred but not essential; Ability to prioritise workload; Flexible and trustworthy; Full UK Driving licence preferably with Van driving experience; Physically fit Able to work in a busy environment remaining calm and keeping a positive 'can do' attitude Excellent customer service attitude Displays a sense of urgency, is able to multi-task and has the ability to perform under pressure to action requests in a timely and proactive manner Is able to show flexibility in order to adapt to the ever changing needs and demands of the role
