What are we looking for





We have an opportunity for a Production Electrician, where you will install, terminate and test all cables into ITM's current range of electrolyser modules and skids. These need to be produced to ITM's drawings and cable schedules.



This will involve all aspects of electrical work required within the business. Wiring ITM products, supporting connections and disconnections of Test bays and supporting maintenance when required.



These installations include AC LV Power supplies to PSU's, Electrolysers, Pumps and heaters etc. Also including ELV circuits and control systems controlled by PLC's.



As the plant produces flammable gas at high pressure, all wiring has to adhere to the latest ATEX standards. This also dictates the use of flameproof cable transits, safety earthing and ATEX cable glands. A good understanding of ATEX regulations is required and all installations must meet these standards.



As these products are used in high value Petro-chemical plants and have a high media presence, all installations must be to a consistently high standard.




Responsibilities





Work in a production environment, either independently or as part of a small team Work to and achieve targets as set by local management Adhere to workplace H&S procedures Pull all cables into containers and fix to cable tray, considering bend radius and separation of power and signal cables Terminate all instrumentation as per the wiring schedule Ensure all wiring and terminations are performed to the latest standards, or any other agreed standards Terminate and make off all types of cable currently in use within the company, from small signal cables, multicore cables, LV Power cables and large diameter DC power cables Ensure required testing and inspection documentation is completed and maintained Sign off build stage completion on relevant documentation Maintain cleanliness of the work area Manage kits effectively, sorting into designated areas and adhering to compliance standards Work to standard procedures to maintain high quality through-out Highlight potential failures before they occur Read and interpret technical drawings Raise improvement ideas within the local area




You will additionally be expected to:


Test, inspect and record results/work for each cable/conductor installed and fault find when required in line with your competency Train others in line with your competency Perform quality assurance and testing checks Maintain quality standards and report defects Undertake any training as required by the role



About You




Knowledge and Experience





NVQ level 3 in associated electrical discipline Electrical C&G 18th edition Good English and maths skills Manual handling 5S in the workplace Production based qualifications an advantage Understanding of Health and Safety guidelines Understand the shop floor policies and procedures Familiar with cable screening and grounding techniques for reducing E.M.I, signal noise, with safety considerations in mind Familiar with all cable termination methods such as bootlace ferrules, cable lugs Working in a production environment Multi parallel screened DC power cables including fitting appropriate glands, lugs and screen bonding clamps Delivering to plan right first time Achieving targets



Skills and Abilities





Basic PC skills Have a practical as well as a theoretical impact upon projects See a task through from start to finish Strong communication skills, able to effectively interact with all key stakeholders Excellent time management skills and a willingness to remain flexible Excellent attention to detail Understand cable identification systems Read and follow cable schedules, read and interpret technical drawings You will be responsible, quality focused with a positive approach to work. Demonstrates good problem-solving ability Work to deadlines
