The successful candidate must be a good team player, well organised and possess good communication skills. The role is to effectively engineer the transition of a product from R&D project through to production. This will involve providing the necessary guidance, documentation and information required to allow ongoing production and support of our mechanical products, while doing so in accordance with company processes and procedures, and ensuring that best practice manufacturing philosophies, methods and techniques are adopted.

Principal Duties



The Production Engineer will be required to:

Work as part of a cross departmental group responsible for ensuring the smooth transition of a product from design to production Be responsible for the provision of various formats of information required to allow manufacturing and servicing to be conducted repeatedly to meet required company and industry quality standards Identify appropriate methods of manufacture for the company's products ensuring that best practices are employed Work with suppliers and purchasing to coordinate and help manage the supply chain in relation to outsourced activities, including supplier auditing and performance reviews Review manufacturing methods regularly as part of the company's drive for continual improvement Operate within the document control system to ensure all manufacturing information and documentation is formally approved, released and amended Ensure manufacturing database information is accurately maintained

Required Knowledge & Experience



The Production Engineer is required to have the following knowledge & experience:

Experience in assembling and testing mechanical assemblies and products Experience in creating and updating assembly and test procedures, along with associated records Experience in interpreting and creating engineering drawings and bills of materials Knowledge and understanding of process hold points, QC activities and FATs

Competencies



It is advantageous for the Production Engineer to have the following competencies:

Qualified in a mechanical engineering discipline PC literate, in particular the use of Microsoft Office software, Word and Excel is essential Experience in using Autodesk Inventor and Vault, or similar packages is essential Experience in using MS Visio and Adobe FrameMaker beneficial Excellent communication skills

Pay: 36,524.74-63,370.78 per year
