We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for optimising production processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives. Shift Work:
6am-2pm and 10am-6pm
Responsibilities
The position will involve the disassembly, cleaning, assembly, refurbishment and testing of bag machines.
To prevent breakdowns by checking, cleaning, and oiling machine parts regularly, as part of preventative maintenance.
To attend breakdowns.
To use tools such as micrometers, callipers, and gauges etc. to check and adjust the parts of a machine.
To follow blueprints and engineering specifications and maintain careful records of work carried out.
To order new parts to replace the damaged parts.
To manufacture or repair parts as required.
To carry out building maintenance when required.
Analyse production processes to identify root causes of inefficiencies or defects, implementing effective corrective actions.
Apply mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues, perform repairs, etc.
Lead continuous improvement projects aimed at enhancing productivity, quality, and safety standards within the production environment.
To carry out any other work as and when required as directed by the Shift Manager or Production Director.
Skills
Strong root cause analysis capabilities with a proven track record of resolving complex production issues.
Ability to interpret schematics, technical drawings, and engineering diagrams accurately.
Experience in centre lathe turning, milling, welding (TIG, MIG, Plasma), fitting skills.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a proactive approach to process optimisation.
