RDM are a manufacturer of Industrial Test Equipment, including benchtop electro-mechanical test frames. Our small production team is growing following recent expansion, leading to the need for an experienced Production Engineer.
This new role encompasses both assembly and test of our products with the added responsibility of managing the link between product design and production.
The assembly tasks are varied and include the build & test of complete instruments as well as the completion of externally part-built machines following work instructions; building small mechanical frames, wiring electrical components, plumbing pneumatic valves.
The link with design revolves around the introduction of new products into production as well as managing and solving day-to-day manufacturing issues.
The role would suit someone with hands on electro-mechanical assembly experience and / or product design, good communicator and problem solver, looking to work as part of growing team.
Key Responsibilities:
Assembly and test of Electro-Mechanical Test Instruments ensuring expected quality is maintained.
Provides a pro-active and flexible approach to solving production issues to maintain the production schedule.
Ensuring all Health & Safety guidelines and safe working practices are adhered to.
Maintains 5S housekeeping principles within the manufacturing workshop.
Skills & Experience:
Ability to work as part of a small assembly team as well as providing the link to design.
Ability to effectively manage and solve problems
Ability to follow and create work instructions & documentation.
Be motivated and proactive with excellent communication skills.
Minimum NVQ3 (in a relevant electro/mechanical subject) and 5 years production engineering experience
The Package:
Full-Time 40 hrs in person across 5 days (includes daily 1hr paid lunch break) with some flexibility.
30 days annual holiday including bank holidays, and Christmas shutdown.
