Overview

This role is responsible for creating/importing, managing, and updating the Bill of Materials for all manufactured products. Ensuring that all Item/product configurations and any associated documentation, including the BOM and its structures meet the needs of the business, are accurate and reflect the current design and manufacturing processes.
A proactive approach to managing and maintaining of item master data within the MRP system, ensuring the integrity and accuracy of the BOM information used for planning, purchasing, and manufacturing.
This requires working closely with stakeholders to ensure accuracy and completeness to implement any necessary engineering changes.
Key Responsibilities:
Documentation Support:
Create/Import and amend Bills of Materials (BOMs) ensuring data accuracy.
Ensure BOM structures are both effective and consistent.
Support New Product Introductions (NPI).
Create/update assembly and test instructions to ensure a "right first time" outcome.
Create/update customer specific product serialisation specifications.
Create/update customer specific packaging Instructions.
Technical Liaison:
Liaise with customers and suppliers as required to resolve any BOM/ documentation queries, ensuring technical accuracy.
Liaise with the Production Engineering Manager on improvements we can make to refine documentation, responses to feedback, and implement updates that can improve quality and streamline production.
Provide alternative component options to customer/supply chain where initial part availability could become a constraint.
Systems & Data Management:
Maintain accurate electronic records within the MRP/ERP systems to ensure traceability and control of engineering documents.
Assist in the development and control of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production engineering-related processes.
Advanced level Excel/PowerBi skills would be very beneficial in analysing of data.
Qualifications & Experience:
Relevant engineering qualification or degree.
Experience in electronics production engineering is essential.
Able to interpret technical drawings and schematics
Highly proficient in ERP/MRP systems and MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
High numerical accuracy and data handling capability.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
