Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic

Production Operator

to join our specialist cable manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience of production line operations and/or a strong understanding of continuous extrusion manufacture. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient production of high-quality products while adhering to operational guidelines and safety standards. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with a high attention to detail and a collaborative mindset. As you will be working as part of a small, proactive and professional team, team fit is frequently more important to us than experience, and training will be made available for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Set-up, operate and monitor various types of machinery, including extrusion lines, cable bunching and winding equipment, ensuring optimal performance and output. Perform and record quality control tasks to ensure products meet manufacturing standards. Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on machines to limit downtime. Troubleshoot machine issues and implement solutions promptly. Work closely and collaboratively with colleagues to prioritise and deliver on production schedules and deadlines. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

What We're Looking For

Experience in a manufacturing or production environment. Proficiency in operating production line machinery, ideally continuous extrusion lines, cable bunching and winding equipment. Experience of quality control processes. Familiarity with production management software (Monitor). Competence in maths for measurements and calculations. Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to think on your feet. High attention to detail and commitment to quality. Strong communication skills and teamwork skills. Positive, can-do attitude and willingness to learn. Ability to follow instructions and work independently. Physically capable of manual handling tasks. Flexibility to occasionally work overtime if required.

12.25 per hour. Day shift role (06:00-14:00h) Monday to Friday with occasional overtime opportunities. 33 days holiday (including bank holidays and up to 10 days of factory shutdown).
