To maximise the operational availability and efficiency of all Process, Filling & Packaging machinery by executing all Planned Preventative Maintenance programs.
This will also cover fault finding/troubleshooting and subsequent corrective action on unplanned stoppages in a safe and efficient manner.
To be Production driven to assist in maximising output. Efficiency, Quality, Safety.
To be key to set up of lines particularly at changeovers to make fine adjustments to optimise performance of equipment
Main Duties:
Execute Planned Preventative Maintenance programme as assigned in a timely and efficient manner.
Fault find/troubleshoot on breakdowns and take necessary and timely corrective action.
Complete all documentation and file it accurately, ensuring non-conformance forms are communicated to Engineering Manager.
Conduct duties in a safe and competent manner and report immediately any unsafe or defective equipment or practices.
Ensure safe systems of work and work permits are in place and followed.
Conduct duties hygienically, efficiently and within the specified Quality Standards.
Liaise with all necessary personnel, including but not exclusive to, Operators, Quality, Laboratory, Contractors, as required.
Liaise with opposite shift Maintenance Technicians to ensure detailed hand over.
Identify cost reduction opportunities and report to Engineering Manager.
Attend team briefings suggesting improvements and workable solutions to team performance.
Obtain detailed knowledge of relevant Process, Filling and Packing specifications.
Maintain required standard of Housekeeping in designated area.
Maintain assigned tool kit reporting any problems immediately to Engineering Manager.
Assist in the training of assigned staff.
Follow specified Stores procedures for equipment and spare part issues and return.
Conduct all duties in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures as specified in the manufacturer recommendations and/or Montgomery Waters Quality System.
Carry out the following detailed duties in line with laid down procedures and standards
Key responsibilities:
To plan and execute planned preventative maintenance to all plant and equipment within their department to meet the demands of the business.
To ensure compliance of Quality procedures by meeting Site targets for continuous improvement, within the Department.
To ensure full implementation of Safety systems and safe practices of work and continually practices this with in their department's teams.
3 years Proven Multi-skilled engineering experience
GCSE Grade C or above in English & Maths or equivalent.
Have completed a Recognised Engineering Apprenticeship
HNC / NVQ III / C&G 2&3 certificates
18th Edition IEE wiring regulation pass Desirable:
Previous Engineering experience within a food manufacturing business
Strong engineering competence on production plant and auxiliary equipment
Experience of continuous improvement
Able to self-manage and prioritise own workload to satisfy commitments and meet agreed deadlines
