Job Description

Job Purpose:



The Production Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing and assembly process, ensuring products are delivered on time, to quality standards, and within budget.

This role involves managing the production team, optimising processes, and maintaining compliance with health, safety, and industry regulations.

Accountabilities



Production Management



Plan, organise, and manage daily production schedules to meet customer demand. Allocate resources efficiently to maintain workflow and minimise downtime. Monitor production KPIs, addressing issues proactively to ensure targets are achieved. Maintain accurate production records and reporting for management review.

Quality Assurance



Ensure all products meet Hospital Direct quality standards and relevant regulatory requirements (ISO, CE marking, etc.). Implement quality control procedures and conduct regular inspections. Work closely with the Quality team to address non-conformance issues promptly

.


Team Leadership



Lead, motivate, and develop the production team to achieve high performance. Conduct regular team meetings and communicate production goals effectively. Manage recruitment, training, and performance evaluations for production staff.

Process Improvement



Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen). Reduce waste and optimise workflows for efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Support the introduction of new products and processes in collaboration with R&D.

Health & Safety Compliance



Ensure the production area adheres to all health and safety regulations. Conduct risk assessments and ensure staff follow safe working practices. Promote a strong safety culture across the team.

Essential:



Proven experience as a Production Manager or similar role in a manufacturing environment (preferably medical devices or healthcare products).

Proven ability to maintain production and automated machinery (Inc CAD) to ensure production flows

Understanding of ISO 9001 quality standards and compliance requirements.

Familiarity with ERP systems and production planning tools.

Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Machinery Experience

Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

Excellent problem-solving skills

IT Skills, including Excel and Word

Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise work

Attention to detail

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desirable:



IOSH/NEBOSH certification (desirable).Valid driving license

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year

Work Location: In person
