Role Summary



New Vacancy due to Team Expansion



We are pleased to announce that in conjunction with the expansion of our product manufacturing range, we are growing our Production Management Team and have an opening for an additional

Production Manager

. We currently employ a team of one Senior Production Manager, and two Production Managers; we are expanding this team to 3 to support our ambitious growth strategy and factory expansion plans.

Normal Working Hours:

Mondays-to-Fridays (0830-1700hrs). Please note, you may also be required to undertake flexible working arrangements to work evenings, weekends, or overtime to meet production deadlines or address urgent issues.

The Role:

As an integral member of the Production Department Management Team, you will work in partnership in overseeing all aspects of nutraceutical product manufacturing ensuring efficient, compliant, and safe production of our extensive range of products. You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling production activities, including personnel management, resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards and regulatory requirements.

Focusing on increasing operational productivity and effectiveness, you will develop, track, and drive improvement in applicable measures including operations, supply chain, productivity, lead time, raw materials, manufacturing costs, process yields, and reduced inventory investments.

In summary, you will play a key role in developing and managing performance indicators (KPIs) and fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration. You will oversee the daily operations of manufacturing activities, ensuring efficient, safe, and high-quality production in adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities



Production Planning and Execution:



In collaboration with key stakeholders, develop and implement production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet production targets and deadlines. Ensure timely resolution of issues impeding the flow of production. Ensure production schedules meet On-Time In-Full (OTIF) demands.

Quality Control:



Ensure that all products are manufactured in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements. Enforce quality control standards, monitoring production processes, and implementing corrective actions to maintain product consistency and safety.

Team Management:



Support the hiring, training, planning, assigning, development, and performance management of direct reports and Production Operatives, Team Leaders, and associates within production area.

Resource Management:



Manage personnel, equipment, materials, and other resources to optimise production efficiency and minimise downtime and waste.

Compliance and Safety:



Ensure that all production activities comply with safety regulations, environmental guidelines, quality, and company policies and procedures.

Process Improvement:



Identify areas for improvement in production processes, implementing changes, and monitoring their effectiveness.

Manufacturing Scale-up:



A strong grasp of the product development process, including formulation and process requirements, to ensure the successful scale-up of new products into full production.

Reporting and Documentation:



Maintain accurate production records, preparing reports, and communicating production performance to key stakeholders.

Collaboration:



Work closely with other departments, such as Quality, Product Development, Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless product manufacturing and release.

Skills/Experience/Qualifications



The role of

Product Development Manager

is multifaceted and requires both industry-specific qualifications and technical abilities. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:

Formal Education:



Ideally, Bachelor's or Master's degree or equivalent qualifications in quality management, Food Science, Food Technology, Engineering, or a related field. HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) certification and other Food Safety Management System (FSMS) certifications. Certifications in product management, agile methodologies, or other relevant fields. Ideally, Internal Auditing Qualification.

Experience:



Proven experience production planning in creating and managing production schedules. Proven experience in setting and maintain quality control within the food manufacturing sector; ideally, working with quality management systems (QMS), such as ISO standards, and understand-ing food safety regulations; including, BRC, GMP, HACCP, and IFS. Familiarity with the implementation and maintenance of inhouse Food Management Systems. In-depth knowledge of relevant food safety regulations. Experience with Complaint Investigation, and Root Cause and Trend Analysis. Direct experience with implementing and enforcing food safety regulations. Ideally, experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software (specifically, TROPOS). Experience in planning, organising, and executing projects, including resource allocation, timeline management, and risk assessment. Knowledge and experience in implementing and adhering to health and safety regulations. Experience leading and motivating production teams. Understanding of supply chain processes, from manufacturing resource planning to master pro-duction planning. Experience of manufacturing scale-up from new product development into full production.

Skills



The ability to analyse data, identify trends, and assess risks is essential for effective food safety management. Understanding of production processes, equipment, and relevant technologies. This includes knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control measures, and health and safety regula-tions. Managerial Skills, leadership, team management, delegation, and conflict resolution. Excellent written and verbal communication, active listening, and the ability to work effectively with diverse teams. Ability to identify and resolve food safety issues, seeking practical/workable and innovative methods to deliver solutions. Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines. Flexibility towards working patterns to deliver results on time, within constraints and in line with company policies, procedures, and organisational strategy. Ability to maintain accurate records, conducting thorough inspections, and ensuring compliance with regulations necessitates. Strong attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain records, and coordinate activities. High ethical standards and integrity in all aspects, promoting the highest levels of quality culture.
