We are currently seeking an experienced
Production Manager
to oversee our busy manufacturing facility. This role is ideal for someone with hands-on experience in bespoke furniture production--specifically in joinery and/or upholstery--who thrives in a
High Mix-Low Volume (HMLV)
manufacturing environment.
Role Overview
Reporting directly to senior leadership, the Production Manager will be responsible for leading the
Joinery, Upholstery, and Finishing
departments. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, proven management experience, and a results-driven approach to manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily operations of joinery, upholstery, and finishing departments.
Provide technical guidance across all manufacturing disciplines when required.
Ensure each project has the correct materials, tooling, documentation, and signed-off progress at each stage.
Monitor production quality, ensuring compliance with
ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001
standards.
Guarantee adherence to all health, safety, environmental, and quality protocols.
Coordinate with procurement and maintenance teams to ensure machinery and tools are in optimal working order.
Lead, manage, and support departmental staff, including performance reviews and team development.
Maintain production schedules and ensure all project deadlines are achieved.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum
3 years' experience in production management
, preferably within a bespoke manufacturing environment.
Strong technical understanding of
furniture production, joinery, and upholstery processes
.
Proven ability to manage multiple bespoke projects under tight deadlines.
In-depth knowledge of HMLV production systems and techniques.
Outstanding leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Highly organized with strong planning and time-management abilities.
Proficient in implementing and maintaining ISO standards and HSE regulations.
Practical, solutions-oriented mindset with a proactive and hands-on approach.
