JOB DESCRIPTION
Production Manager
Department: Production Operations
Reports to: Production Manager
Salary: 35,000 - 40,000 dependent on experience.
As the Production / Warehouse Manager you will be responsible for daily warehouse and
production operations across two shifts. You will ensure there is a safe working
environment, and there are clear targets across all departments. You will create a positive
working environment which is driven on performance and high-quality standards. It is
critical you also develop a culture of continuous improvement and flexibility to meet a
demanding growth strategy.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. QHSE:
Ensure all employees adhere to health and safety policies and work safely
Ensure any accidents / near misses are reported correctly
Ensure daily safety checks are completed across all areas
Drive improvement in quality working towards zero defects
2. Operations:
Lead production / warehouse supervision with a strong, visible shopfloor presence
Ensure effective communication on order book requirements across both shifts
Effective capacity planning to ensure order book fluctuations are met
Implement effective KPI's linked to company goals
Daily monitoring of employee performance
Develop a positive, can-do environment
Have a direct input in to process optimisation to reduce waste and increase output per head
3. People management:
Develop and mentor the team
Create an effective shopfloor training plan and training records
Responsible for employee daily time & attendance
Responsible for first line disciplinaries
Responsible for effective RTW's
Conduct regular 121's
Conduct daily shopfloor huddles
3. Warehousing:
Lead and develop a warehouse team to ensure stock accuracy and effective use of warehouse space
Monitor and manage inventory levels in line with demand
Create effective relationships with 3rd party warehousing to ensure seamless
movement of stock
Weekly PI checks
Skills
Experience in production and warehouse management (min 5 years)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Good knowledge of H&S legislation and best practice
Experience in LEAN tools and techniques
Proven experience in managing absence management
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: 35,000.00-40,000.00 per year
