As t

he Production Manager, you will be an inspirational leader of a multi-skilled team. Optimising the potential of the production team, raw material supply chains, utilisation of our asset base and production machinery. You will develop a culture focused on health & safety at the forefront, along with installing quality control.

The Production Manager is a significant and important cross-functional role within the Factory Leadership Team. The Production Manager reports directly to the Works Manager.

The Production Manager must provide the relevant cover for the Factory Manager when it is required.

Key Duties & Areas of Responsibility for Role:



Follow and promote ALL Safety Rules, leading by example and demonstrating the relevant Health & Safety (H&S) leadership behaviours.

Lead and promote a positive H&S culture by following ALL training and adhering to ALL H&S policies, procedures and protocols at all times, reporting any and all hazards or issues immediately on our SHE system.

Responsible for the management of H&S for the site when on shift including leading H&S incident investigations.

Resolution of H&S issues raised closing out ALL actions assigned to you by applying Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implementing robust actions.

Lead, engage and develop your team to ensure the correct "team" approach to H&S behaviours are demonstrated across all areas of the site.

Deliver Toolbox Talks (TBT's).

Lead H&S audits across your function, areas of responsibility and site.

Be a present and visible Leader and engage the team to create and embed a culture of development and high performance.

Plan and implement training and development, including recruitment to create a flexible, multi-skilled, effective, cross functional and cross departmental team.

Have accountability of your team to deliver the expected end product to our customers.

Coach, mentor and develop your team to maximise their strengths, and to close any development opportunities.

A natural team builder with exceptional interpersonal skills who enjoys developing and leading others to improve their performance.

Drive a "Talent" mentality through succession planning and performance management.

Ensure people and resources are monitored and utilised in an efficient and effective manner to eliminate over manning, to operate all stations when required and to meet all delivery Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and metrics.

Sensitively manage team member Employee Relations (ER) including leading conduct investigations and issues.
Has strong influencing and engagement skills demonstrated through values based leadership.

Lead and promote a positive quality culture by following ALL training and resolving and or escalating ALL quality issues immediately utilising escalation procedures when relevant.

Lead and promote a positive quality culture by ensuring ALL team members are trained on quality expectations and specifications as required.

Ensure raw materials are correctly stored and clearly identifiable.
To ensure that all finished product meets customer specifications, focussing on "right first time" and positive releasing product as required.

Support quality incident Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations for any relevant non-conformances at the factory. Contribute to and drive the Quality strategy across site working collaboratively with ALL relevant functions.
Ensure accurate collection and recording of production and downtime data.

Detailed collation, analysis and interpretation of production and downtime data, implement and drive CI initiatives to develop, achieve and improve performance, KPIs, metrics, targets and objectives etc. across your function, areas of responsibility and site.

Manage production processes to deliver departmental performance measures within financial, quality and environmental constraints.

Identify opportunities for standardisation of operations to simplify knowledge requirements.

Implement and sustain 5S standards in the factory and across site.

Responsible for quality control and investigation into any complaints

Demonstrable budgetary understanding and control Ensure labour and holidays are effectively planned guaranteeing full cover as required whilst minimising overtime.
Input and participate in the creation of the site budget.

To lead Month End Stock Counts.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:



Excellent level of Health & Safety knowledge and legislation ideally holding NEBOSH or IOSH equivalent as a minimum Self-starter who is self-motivated with the ability to work alone Team working Previous manufacturing experience. Demonstrable Leadership skills and competencies Highly numerate and literate with the ability to communicate at all levels IT literate with Microsoft office ability. Must have knowledge of Excel. Excellent communication skills Excellent level of understanding of English language

Desirable Qualifications & Experience:



Being a certified and licenced counterbalance Fork Lift Truck (FLT), mobile plant or Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) Driver is advantageous. High level of people leadership skills Auto CAD experience desirable

Training & Development



The successful candidate will be required to commit to a focused programme of training and development which will include but not limited to:

Multi-skilled / functional and cross departmental training Localised Health and Safety Procedures Localised Environmental and Quality Responsibilities Localised up-skilling Finance 5S principles

Pay: 40,000.00-45,000.00 per year
