The Role



After a period of sustained growth, we are looking for a fantastic Production Manager to join our team based in Maldon, Essex to help us realise our ambitious plans. This is a great opportunity to join one of the leading EMC product manufacturers during an exciting and pivotal time on our journey. You will play a key role in our management team whilst taking ownership of and overseeing our various manufacturing departments.

This is a critical leadership position within Nolato PPT. You will have overall responsibility for the efficient production of high-quality EMC protection materials and products that meet our customers' exacting standards and delivery expectations whilst playing a vital role in our management team, driving continuous improvement and fostering a safe and productive work environment.

With experience of building a close-knit, efficient manufacturing team, you will pride yourself on ensuring smooth manufacturing processes. You will have excellent co-ordination and planning skills, and outstanding problem-solving abilities with an eye always on quality.

The role has a lot of scope and freedom to make your own and reports into the Plant Manager.

Leadership and Management



Lead, manage, and motivate a diverse team across various manufacturing departments, fostering a positive and high-performing work culture. Demonstrate strong decision-making capabilities and provide clear direction to your teams. Communicate effectively and concisely with employees at all levels, as well as with customers and suppliers when required. Address and resolve any workplace issues or conflicts in a timely, professional, and fair manner.

Production and Operations:



Oversee the entire production lifecycle, from the procurement of raw materials through to the dispatch of finished goods. Ensure all products consistently meet our stringent quality standards and precise customer specifications. Implement and champion lean manufacturing principles and other continuous improvement methodologies to optimise production efficiency, reduce waste, and control costs. With the Production Scheduler monitor and manage inventory levels effectively, ensuring the timely procurement of necessary materials to meet production schedules. Develop and manage production schedules to meet customer demand whilst maximising resource utilisation. Write clear and accurate BOM's and Works Orders using Pegasus Opera. Ensure clear and documented Manufacturing SOP's. Identify and implement new technologies or processes to enhance production capabilities.

Safety and Compliance



Maintain and champion a safe and healthy work environment for all employees, ensuring full compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations and industry best practices. Ensure that all production processes and finished products adhere to relevant regulations and specific customer compliance requirements. Work with QC and H&S to conduct safety audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions as necessary.

Quality Assurance



Work closely with the Quality Manager to maintain and improve our Quality Management System. Work closely with the Quality Manager to investigate any production-related quality issues, implementing robust corrective and preventative actions. Drive a culture of 'right from me' throughout the production process.

Customer Focus:



Collaborate with sales and customer service teams to understand customer requirements and ensure their needs are met regarding product quality and delivery timescales. Proactively address any production-related issues that may impact customer satisfaction.

Continuous Improvement



Constantly seek opportunities to improve productivity, reduce operational costs, and enhance product quality. Analyse production data to identify areas for improvement and report on key performance indicators (KPIs).

The Ideal Candidate:



Proven experience in a Production Management role within a manufacturing environment, preferably in a technical or engineering-focused sector. Experience with EMC products and/or seals & gaskets or similar precision components would be a distinct advantage. Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams. Experience in implementing and a thorough understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping). An excellent problem-solver with a pragmatic, hands-on approach. Skilled in Root Cause Analysis and Plan-Do-Check-Act. Use and analyse data to drive data-driven decision making, and KPI's. A demonstrable commitment to health, safety, and quality. Strong organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, comfortable liaising with individuals at all levels. Proficient in the use of manufacturing ERP/MRP systems and standard office software. A proactive and results-driven individual with a keen eye for detail. Must be adept at understanding and translating client requirements into actionable production plans.
