PRODUCTION MANAGER - STELLEX MANUFACTURING LTD - RAF- 4031
Company Overview:
Stellex Manufacturing Ltd based in Hadston, Morpeth are looking for a Production Manager. We offer an extensive range of products for use in the catering industry, from the simplest of tables for food preparation through to bespoke servery counters.
Throughout the Company's trading history, we have earned a reputation within the catering fabrication and distributor markets for providing high quality solutions and services to all its end users. And are now expanding into the Pharmaceutical and veterinary markets.
Role Overview:
Reporting directly to the Managing Director this role is ideal for someone who is used to working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on challenge and is prepared to take responsibility for the daily management of Production and Design, ensuring that all objectives are achieved.
Main duties will include:
Lead, assist and motivate the shop floor staff
Distribute work to shop floor staff and manage progress as required
Ensure timescales are met for projects, and resource allocated as necessary
Liaise with Cad Staff re any design queries
Ensure all staff are working safely, complying with H+S Requirements Ensure a clear paper trail is maintained
Ensure all goods are inspected
Liaise with Customers and admin staff as needed
Ensure quality standards are met and training given where needed
Ensure materials and stock levels are maintained
Address all 1st line management matters including discipline, grievance, absence and performance management.
Explore opportunities to improve workflow
Explore opportunities to reduce material wastage
Ensure Machine checks carried out
Maintain Tool Inventory
Ensure any factory maintenance issues are dealt with
Organise meetings, reports and updates internally and externally when required to do so.
Any other duties as required and within your remit and skill set.
Skills & Experience Required:
Possess any supervisory/management qualification.
Possess excellent communication & interpersonal skills
A strong commitment to customer satisfaction with no fear of exploring innovative problem solving.
An ability to manage and motivate people well, leading by example and able to train employees where required.
Be able to agree and meet reasonable time scales for the work required.
Possess the ability to multi task
Experience of working on a shop floor environment, (ideally within a sheet metal) and similar role is a distinct advantage.
Must be flexible to travel and stay overnight if required
Proficient in using Microsoft Office programmes especially Word and Excel, with AutoCAD experience being a major bonus.
