About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and driven Waste Recycling and Production Manager to oversee day-to-day operations at our recycling facility in Neath, South Wales. This is a key leadership position responsible for managing waste processing and production lines while ensuring compliance with environmental standards and health & safety regulations. The role includes managing shift patterns, leading teams across different shifts, and optimising production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the waste recycling and production processes to ensure maximum efficiency and compliance. Lead, motivate, and support shift-based teams across a 24/7 operational schedule. Develop and manage shift rotas, ensuring sufficient cover, fairness, and operational effectiveness. Monitor and report on KPIs, throughput, and quality assurance metrics. Ensure compliance with all relevant environmental legislation, permits, and health and safety standards. Implement and continuously improve operational procedures and workflows. Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure minimal downtime and rapid issue resolution. Train, coach, and develop team members to promote a high-performance culture. Liaise with external suppliers, contractors, and regulatory bodies as needed.

Key Requirements:

Proven experience in a production or waste recycling environment, preferably in a managerial or supervisory role. Strong understanding of environmental and health & safety regulations in the UK. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to manage multi-shift teams. Effective planning and organisational abilities to manage complex shift patterns in a fast moving and changing environment. Problem-solving mindset with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. IT literacy (MS Office, production reporting systems, scheduling tools).

Desirable:

NEBOSH or IOSH qualification. Experience with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies. Relevant qualifications in Waste Management, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
