We are a leading recycled cardboard manufacturer based in Greater Manchester, dedicated to sustainable production and innovation. As part of our continued growth and commitment to excellence, we are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations.
The Role:
As Production Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of our recycled cardboard production facility, which is a 24/7 operation. You'll lead and support a dedicated team to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality production, while driving continuous improvement and innovation throughout the mill.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all aspects of daily production, ensuring safety, quality, and performance targets are met
Manage and motivate a team who work across a 4-shift, day / night rotation, ensuring clear communication and performance standards
Carry out HR responsibilities including staffing, training, performance management, and employee development
Collaborate with other departments including Maintenance, Quality, and Logistics to ensure seamless operations
Lead and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce waste
Maintain a strong focus on health and safety, compliance, and sustainability
Contribute to long-term strategic planning and business development
What We're Looking For:
Proven leadership experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams
Excellent organisational and problem-solving abilities
A driven, ambitious, and innovative mindset - you're someone who thrives on challenges and is eager to move the business forward
Paper or cardboard manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential
Strong understanding of operational KPIs, shift management, and HR practices
