Salary: \xc2\xa335 to \xc2\xa340k, DOE + Benefits

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Production Manager to oversee and manage our production operations.

The Role:

The Production Manager / Supervisor will play a crucial role in ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining a safe working environment, and achieving optimal productivity levels.

Health and Safety Responsibility:
  • Enforce safety policies, procedures, and guidelines to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify potential hazards and implement preventive measures.
  • Promote and maintain a safety culture throughout the production department.
  • Train and educate employees on safe work practices and emergency procedures.
Workload Planning:
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast production requirements and plan workloads accordingly.
  • Develop production schedules and allocate resources effectively to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Monitor and adjust production plans to address changes in demand or unforeseen circumstances.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Identify areas for improvement in production processes, equipment, and workflow.
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing or Kaizen projects.
  • Encourage employee involvement and engagement in identifying and implementing process enhancements.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of implemented improvements and make adjustments as needed.
KPI Measurement:
  • Establish, track and report key performance indicators (KPIs), such as OEE and utilisation to assess production performance.
  • Identify trends, bottlenecks, and areas of improvement.
  • Present performance reports to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
Team Management:
  • Supervise production staff, including assigning tasks, providing guidance, and conducting performance evaluations.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Identify training and development needs of team members and provide appropriate support and resources.
  • Resolve conflicts or issues that arise within the production department in a fair and timely manner.
Production Manager \xe2\x80\x93 Skills / Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on health and safety responsibility, effective planning of workloads, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and measuring key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Chemistry related qualifications, such as HNC, HND, Diploma or Bachelor\xe2\x80\x99s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in production management or supervisory roles, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage workloads effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience implementing continuous improvement initiatives, such as lean manufacturing or Six Sigma.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and engage a diverse team.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
