Production Manager – Seawater Operations

Job Description

Join an independent salmon farming business known for its low impact approach, high welfare standards and commitment to responsible aquaculture in some of Scotland's most remote coastal regions.

We are recruiting a strategic and detail oriented Production Manager to lead seawater production planning, manage vessel logistics and drive biological forecasting across multiple sites.

Key responsibilities:



Production planning and control:

Manage fish movements, biomass estimates and traceability systems to ensure accurate growth and stocking levels across multiple sites.

Harvest and logistics coordination:

Develop detailed harvest and transport plans in collaboration with operations, sales and processing teams, while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Feed management:

Monitor feeding rates, confirm formulations and oversee feed ordering and reconciliation to maintain optimal nutrition and efficiency.

Vessel oversight:

Manage deployment of vessel for site operations and coordinate third-party charters in line with production targets and budgets.

Reporting and forecasting:

Prepare weekly and monthly production reports, develop biological forecasting, maintain KPIs and contribute to annual budgeting.

Compliance and welfare:

Uphold environmental, welfare and health & safety standards, contributing to HACCP and EMS frameworks and representing best practice across operations.
This position could be an excellent step for a Site Production Manager seeking to transition into a more strategic, desk based role, while still staying closely connected to operational outcomes.

What we are looking for:



Solid background in aquaculture production or marine operations Strong skills in planning, data analysis and effective communication Familiarity with biomass tracking technologies and digital traceability systems Proficient in MS Office Packages and general computer applications Willingness to work flexibly, including evenings or weekends as determined by workload Full driving licence and access to own transport
This is a hybrid role, offering flexibility to work from home or a location of your choosing within Scotland. It includes scheduled monthly visits to three key production sites, with all travel and accommodation expenses fully covered by the company.
