As Production Manager, you will oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. To ensure all goods and services are produced safely, cost-effectively and on time and that they meet the required quality standards. You will be responsible for both people and resource management.

Duties
Leadership

Leading and supporting safety initiatives and processes to drive forward standards to ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed at all times.
Customer Delivery
Manage resources to ensure production plan is met.
Work to maintain set minimum stock holding.
Manage resources to ensure throughputs are consistent and meeting targets.
Work with maintenance and other departments to minimise downtime.
Creates and maintains a professional team that provides solutions that support both the customer and business requirements.
Work to ensure teams are multi-skilled and there is a job rotation programme in place.
Work to ensure flexibility is maximised at all times (and within working time regulations) and shift patterns are aligned to business needs.
Set standards and monitor productivity rates and product standards and implement quality control programmes
monitor the production processes and adjust schedules as needed
select equipment and take responsibility for its maintenance
collate and analyse data, putting together production reports for both factory managers and customers
liaise with different departments, teams and companies, e.g. suppliers, managers
Support Stock team to plan and draw up a production schedule and to decide on and order the resources that are required and ensure stock levels remain adequate
Champion the business strategy ensuring the customer is at the heart of what we do; through managers and team leaders so that all employees understand the part they play in its success
Promote a culture of excellence in respect of service, quality and improvement

Lead and involves people in activity and process improvements
Adopt best practices within the team, share and highlight areas where the team and our customers can benefit either through different ways of working or approaches.
Plan and prioritise materials and resources (staff) to maximise the effectiveness of the team and individual abilities to achieve targets and satisfy customer requirements
Work with Production Planner to develop and publish Production Plans / Works Orders. Ensure that order of manufacturing meets quality / testing requirements.
Schedule deliveries / orders for bulk raw materials.
Identify areas for improvement and drive forward new procedures regarding 5S standards, OEE and production processes and monitor standards via regular audits.
Ensuring a safe, clean and environmentally compliant work environment and building a culture where safety is a first priority.
Attending PPS Meetings with view to introducing countermeasures for processes with scope for improvement.
Ensuring operational procedures exist and are followed and product specifications & quality metrics are met.
Track, maintain and report on KPI's associated with the Production Department. Analyze data to assess performance and implement improvements where needed.
Challenge what we do and innovate.
Undertakes duties in accordance with all relevant management systems and controls.
Requirements
Essential
Significant plant management / operations experience working in a multi-line factory, as a Production Manager within a fast paced environment. With the ability to work at an operational and strategic level.
A firm grasp of manufacturing-related activities, specifically production cost control, scheduling, safety and quality
Experience with lean manufacturing, process flow and continuous improvement tools and methodology
Demonstrable leadership experience, good financial understanding and people management skills.
Strong project management skills
IT Skills, specifically use of MS Office, bespoke Systems and reporting
Resourceful, resilient and solution orientated
Excellent communicator
Experience of implementing and monitoring 5S initiatives
