Our Commercial & Industrial division designs, fabricates and constructs structural steelwork for a variety of different sectors including commercial offices, stadia & leisure, industrial & distribution, data centres, retail and health and education.
The division has manufacturing sites in three locations: Dalton, Lostock, and Enniskillen. Each has full-service capabilities and modern manufacturing processes enabling us to provide a high-quality product to a variety of different sectors. Each of our sites has its own strong reputation in the market and between them cover a wider geographical area, including Europe. They continue to set the

As
Production Manager
, you'll oversee the fabrication of structural steel throughout the factory during your shift. You'll lead and coordinate teams and be responsible for overseeing shift operations across processing, fabrication, and despatch, ensuring that safety, quality, and efficiency are consistently upheld. Your leadership will be key to maintaining a motivated, well-coordinated workforce and delivering high-end structural steel products on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage shift teams
, ensuring clear communication, accountability, and alignment with production goals.
Ensure production targets are met
by effectively allocating resources, managing workloads, and resolving any operational issues that arise.
Promote a safety-first culture
, ensuring all team members adhere to health and safety standards and procedures.
Monitor performance and quality standards
, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions where necessary.
Plan and prioritise workloads
, adjusting staffing levels and team structures based on product complexity, deadlines, and individual capabilities.
Collaborate with other departments
, including planning, engineering, and logistics, to ensure smooth workflow and proactive problem-solving.
Skills and Experience
We're seeking a confident and capable leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is passionate about delivering high-quality results. To succeed in this role, you'll need to bring a combination of hands-on experience, technical know-how, and strong leadership skills.
You'll ideally have:
Proven leadership experience
in a steel manufacturing or production environment, ideally at Team Leader, Supervisor, or Manager level.
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
, with the ability to manage schedules, track production metrics, and communicate effectively across departments.
A detail-oriented and safety-conscious mindset
, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
Excellent communication and organisational skills
, enabling you to coordinate teams, manage priorities, and adapt to changing demands.
