The Production Manager is responsible for the strategic leadership and day-to-day management of Steel Build Ltd's production operations. This role ensures the efficient, safe, and high-quality fabrication of products, supporting the company's growth, profitability, and compliance objectives through effective team leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.
Duties
Develop and implement production strategies to meet current and future business growth.
Manage all aspects of production, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Lead continuous improvement initiatives, introducing innovative processes and production efficiencies.
Oversee health and safety compliance across the workshop and production operations.
Coordinate with procurement to ensure timely delivery of materials and control stock levels.
Manage the production planning process, including resource allocation and scheduling.
Work closely with the Senior Projects Manager, Design Department, and Installation Teams to ensure smooth project handovers and coordination.
Maintain UKCA compliance across all production activities.
Manage workshop staff, including the Workshop Foreman, Fabricators, and Production Support Operatives.
Identify and address bottlenecks and capacity issues promptly.
Monitor production KPIs, providing regular reports to senior management.
Manage the production budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and identifying savings opportunities.
Lead staff training and development to promote a high-performance culture.
Uphold and promote Steel Build Ltd's core values across all production activities.
Skills
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively.
Experience in architectural and structural steelwork environment is essential.
Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a positive attitude towards challenges.
Excellent communicator
