Production Operations Manager
The Production Operations Manager oversees daily operations, future live planning, and the smooth running of WBD's two production sites in West London. This pivotal role involves collaboration with Resource, Vision, and Sound managers to build a customer-focused team that supports clients and production partners, ensuring efficient and effective operations within the facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain studio, PCR, and production facilities to ensure optimal utilization and support for editorial aspirations.
Inspire and lead a team of operational supervisors and coordinators to deliver first-class service and maintain high standards.
Ensure an unrivalled customer experience from planning through to production.
Act as the main point of contact for all production facilities-related issues, liaising with internal stakeholders, vendors, and contractors.
Directly engage with customers to build and deliver their production requirements.
Develop and implement production facilities management policies and procedures, ensuring consistent application across both sites.
Ensure all facilities are fully operational, maintained to high standards, and meet the needs of staff, clients, and visitors.
Work collaboratively with other T&O departments within the supply chain (e.g., MCR, Ingest, Engineering, Transmission) to ensure high standards of communication and working relationships.
Work closely with the Resources Manager to schedule staff allocation for future events.
Deliver data reports on business performance to senior team (e.g., staffing, freelancers, travel, facility costs).
Support the development of internal processes and facilities to enhance business operations.
Create learning materials such as training documents and workflow diagrams.
Support supervisors in allocating staff and resources in scheduling systems according to best practices.
Support the senior team and coordinate on-air recovery during operational emergencies.
Support internship, training days and diversity programs to enhance career progress within the industry.
Deputize for the Operations Director when required.
Qualifications & Experience:
Thorough understanding of studio production and broadcast technology, scheduling, rostering, and budget management.
Excellent organizer able to prioritize a complex workload and meet deadlines individually and as part of a collaborative team.
Strong communicator who can influence others and deliver key information in a timely and accurate manner to a range of stakeholders at all levels.
Able to resolve conflict and supervise a multifunctional team of staff and contractors in a live production environment.
Strong leadership abilities and willingness to lead by example.
Ability to manage change positively and constructively, supporting and guiding others.
Self-motivated and enthusiastic leader.
Knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation, policies, and standards (e.g., Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, Risk Assessments, COSHH, Working at Height, Electricity at Work, Noise, Manual Handling of Work Equipment).
Previous experience scheduling through Xytech Media Pulse and Provys. Would be a bonus.
A drive to deliver high standards of customer service.
Must be flexible in approach to support live 24/7 broadcast operations.
Hybrid Working - This role is advertised as a Hybrid work model, that combines remote and in-office work, following our current company policy and to be agreed with your Line Manager. Subject to any applicable laws, WBD / your Line Manager reserves the right to change this working agreement where this is essential to business needs and upon reasonable notice to you.
