Salary: \xc2\xa328,733 starting salary, rising annually in line with our pay structure and progression plan to \xc2\xa336,569

Hours: 42 hours per week Monday to Friday with 1 in 3 Saturdays (6am - noon)

As part of our investment and growth plans for Marshalls Bricks and Masonry, we\'re now recruiting for a Production Operative to join our manufacturing site at Bridgend.

So what\'s the mission?
You will be joining our close-knit and dynamic team on a permanent basis where you\'ll be making concrete products to the required specification for the end customer. This is a varied role with multiple responsibilities. You\'ll be tasked with operating the forklift to unload trucks and move stock to the correct locations in the yard, checking and signing paperwork, correct use of the packing line, and our concrete wet press machinery.

It will be beneficial to have experience working in a production environment using your knowledge of safety, quality, waste, and best practices. You will carry out all duties relating to the efficient manufacturing of high-quality Decorative Architectural Masonry products and other concrete products, using all operational techniques. The position requires hands-on manual handling which includes the use of powered hand tools, machinery, and mechanical handling equipment.

Working 42 hours per week on a 3-week shift pattern (6am - 2pm, 2pm - 10pm & 10pm - 6am) Monday to Friday, and every 3rd Saturday morning 6am-12 noon. Full training is provided and flexibility is required during the training period.

What are the mission-critical skills?

  • Experience of operating in a small/medium manufacturing operation
  • FLT license is desirable, but training will be provided
  • Team player with attention to detail
  • Good level of English, oral and written
  • IOSH qualification is desirable
  • Knowledge of OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) is advantageous
  • A forward-thinking individual continually looking at improving processes
