Job Description


We have an opportunity for a Fabrication Operative to join our team at Watt Close.

The role will include the fabrication of sheet metal components and welded assemblies working to specified drawings.

You will be working in a modern manufacturing environment in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures with excellent team working and the ability to integrate into the existing team.

Ideal candidates must be committed to cross functional training and be a proactive problem solver with an understanding of the Continuous Improvement Process.

The role offers a 37 hour working week, working the late shift:

14:00 to 00:00 Monday to Wednesday and 14:00 to 23:00 Thursday, this includes a 15% shift allowance

Responsibilities:

  • Read and interpret detailed drawings.
  • Inspect work against quality criteria and demonstrate capability against these standards
  • Ensure all relevant daily reporting is completed and accurate
  • Participation and support for all new product introduction
  • Correct selection of programs, jigs and tooling for the appropriate fabrication process
  • Ensure maximum productivity by increasing machine utilisation and personal efficiency
  • Loading/ off loading of sheet steel (heavy lifting)
  • Perform autonomous maintenance on all machinery as required
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a Fabrication/Manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential.
