Job Overview
We are recruiting for a Production Operative to join our friendly manufacturing team. This is a full-time, permanent position with an immediate start. (Full training will be provided)
Working Hours:
Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm
Salary:
National Minimum Wage (depending on experience)
Key Responsibilities
Paint & Coatings Manufacturing
Follow product formulas precisely to ensure customer specifications are met
Gather, measure, and prepare raw materials for production batches
Operate production machinery including mixers, dispensers, and lifting equipment
Learn and execute multiple manufacturing processes as required
Monitor production quality throughout the manufacturing cycle
Filling & Labelling
Accurately decant finished products into appropriate containers
Apply correct labelling to all finished goods in accordance with regulations
Ensure packaging meets quality and safety standards
Maintain precise records of batch numbers and product details
Quality Control & Safety
Perform quality assurance checks and product testing
Handle hazardous materials safely, following all COSHH regulations
Utilise provided PPE at all times and maintain strict safety protocols
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment
Report any equipment faults or safety concerns to the Operations Manager immediately
General Duties
Operate forklift trucks (FLT license holders preferred)
Monitor and report stock levels of raw materials and finished goods
Clean and maintain machinery and production areas to a high standard
Undertake manual handling tasks as required (this is a physical role)
Communicate effectively with team members and other departments
Essential Requirements
Attention to detail - accuracy is critical in paint manufacturing
Ability to follow written instructions and product formulas precisely
Comfortable working with hazardous materials and chemicals
Physical fitness for manual handling tasks
Strong commitment to health and safety procedures
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team

Desirable Requirements
Previous experience in a production or manufacturing environment
Valid FLT (Forklift Truck) license would be an advantage
Experience in paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing
Understanding of quality control processes
