We are looking for a hands-on and proactive team member to join our production department. The role involves working closely with raw materials, operating machinery, and ensuring that all processes run smoothly and safely. You'll contribute to the day-to-day operation of the winery, helping to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position also offers the chance to be involved in wider winery activities such as lab work, research trials, and cellar operations.
Who You'll Work With
You will report directly to the Production Manager while collaborating closely with the wider production team and the Technical Manager.
Main Duties
Participate in key production activities including bottling, labelling, and disgorging of both sparkling and still wines.
Check work orders against production schedules and specifications, keeping the Production Supervisor/Manager updated on progress.
Monitor riddling operations and maintain accurate scheduling.
Follow all food safety, health and quality standards, always wearing the required PPE and suggesting improvements where possible.
Conduct cleaning, maintenance, and compliance checks on equipment and facilities.
Complete production paperwork and documentation with accuracy and attention to detail.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise with wines or equipment.
Record production figures and highlight potential improvements or challenges.
Carry out preventative maintenance tasks (PPM) and keep logs up to date.
Assist with inventory control, ordering, and material tracking to keep production on schedule.
Operate forklifts and other heavy machinery in a safe and responsible manner.
Additional Opportunities
Assist with research trials, including dosage experiments.
Take part in cellar operations, particularly during harvest.
Support quality control through lab work and wine analysis.
Help manage warehouse organisation and logistics alongside the Production and Logistics teams.
