The Role




Main Purpose of Job




To produce cost-effective and high-quality goods which enable Smurfit Kappa strengthening its market position and fulfil its clients' requirements and expectations


Main Duties




Operate the designated machine in line with its technical requirements and related best practices I methods to secure its optimal utilization and cost and quality effective outcome Continuously focus on the quality of the delivered raw materials (board, ink, glue) as well as manufactured finished goods through the monitoring and reporting on any discrepancies encountered Follow the established quality control policies and procedures in terms of production flow and work Organisation Fulfill all the requirements in relation to the production and quality reporting Keep the workstation clean and tidy Keep control over the designated machine in terms of its operational condition and perform all designated maintenance duties and responsibilities associated with the machine Ensure passing an updated information to the respective Team Leader of any maintenance related issues on a designated machine Actively seek and take the opportunities to learn the production process and to broaden person's knowledge base on conversion-related issues Ensure signing off all the required Safe Working Systems before beginning the specific operation I task Follow all of the Healthy and Safety regulations respective for the specific workstation as well as the general company requirements and report on any hazardous discrepancies that need corrective actions Promote a climate of continuous improvement and employee motivation and involvement at all levels. Contribute as a member of the Yate Operations team.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience




Demonstrated commitment to good health and safety practices. Experience of working within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage Demonstrated ability to work towards tight production deadlines without compromising safety, quality or waste expectations. Excellent communication and team working skills. Ability to identify and act upon process improvement opportunities Experience of working with similar operating equipment would be an advantage.

Complexity and Creativity




Required to use creativity in solving problems concerning, machine efficiencies and contributing towards the solution of technical issues. Problems will require some original thought.
