Job Description

Cutting Edge Trading Limited are looking for a motivated individual who will work in a hands-on role within the production and packaging department, stacking and packing MDF Mouldings including skirting boards, architraves and wall panelling. They will be responsible for ensuring goods are ready to leave us having passed all QC checks. The product we handle is between 2.4 and 4.2 metres in length and once packed weighs up to 25kg.

The main areas of work within this role are:

Working as an infeed operator on our 5-head sander with a trained and authorised operative and taking instruction from them.

Working as an infeed / outfeed operative on the sanding machine, ensuring to safely and correctly stack the MDF as they come off the machine outfeed table, ensuring the board is blemish free and of superior quality. This task involves working to a list and counting the quantity as it comes off the sander to ensure it is the same as on the production list and marking as complete accordingly.

Packing orders and attaching despatch labels to various pack sizes and quantities as instructed and stacking onto stillages ready for despatch.

Observing all health and safety practices, general housekeeping, ensuring that all walkways and work areas are kept free of any obstruction.

A successful Production Operative / Packer will have the following to fulfil their duties:

Excellent attention to detail Strong team spirit Good physical strength and dexterity, capable of lifting 25kg unassisted Able to work on their feet for extended periods of time Excellent verbal communication
Warehouse or manufacturing experience preferred, you will be working in an environment that has machinery and forklifts. Training and PPE will be provided by the employer.

Hours of work are

Mon - Fri 8:00 - 16:30 with a half hour lunch.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent - There is an initial trial period of 3 months.

The wage for this role is 10 - 12.21 depending on age. Initially the role will not require any setting up of machinery however progression opportunities will become available for the right candidate.

This is a physically demanding job and requires you to be on your feet all shift.
