About this role:
A Production Operator with Leviton is individually responsible for the safe manufacture of product to specification, while remaining compliant with site Health & Safety standards and procedures. This is a challenging role involving machine operation and requires the operator to monitor the production process, responding to any abnormal or out of specification situations, and where out of the operator's area of knowledge, relay problems to the appropriate persons.
Essential functions include:
Safety, Health & Environment:
o To be 100% compliant with site HSE standards and procedures and to be comfortable and confident in raising and discussing any issues with colleagues and at all levels of management.
o To comply with all policies and procedures for the control and prevention of accidents.
o To report any accident/incident, which has the potential to lead to a major accident.
o Contribute process/plant knowledge and experience to Risk Assessments when required to maximise HSE performance.
o Understand and follow all emergency procedures.
Process:
o To manufacture data cable to within specification following approved procedures.
o To maintain high levels of output in line with manufacturing requirements.
Quality:
o To preserve product quality through care and attention to detail in line with manufacturing standards and defined procedures.
Equipment/Workplace:
o To maximise plant efficiency and look after equipment.
o To maintain high standards of workplace organisation in line with Lean practices.
Compliance:
o To be a highly disciplined Operator, fully compliant with all rules and procedures working to established quality standards.
Information:
o To maintain good written standards and communicate well with colleagues and others in the business.
About you:
The successful candidate will be an individual who has experience in a fast-paced environment and can demonstrate the ability to multitask, while also retaining attention to detail and accuracy. You will be an excellent problem solver with a background in manufacturing and will have experience in meeting challenging deadlines, while maintaining high quality standards.
Experience in working with BAAN (ERP system) and CRM's would be a distinct advantage.
