Production Operator
Job Description
Hereford Contract Canning is a fast-growing contract canning business, proudly working with leading drinks brands. Due to ongoing investment and the acquisition of new customers, we are expanding and looking to recruit multi-skilled Packaging Operatives to join our Manufacturing Department.
You'll be part of a dedicated team of Operators, working 12 hour shifts, rotating days and nights 0600 - 1800 / 1800 - 0600, Week 1 Tuesday, Wednesday, Thurs, Week 2, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Week 3 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate forklift trucks to transport raw materials and finished goods.
Safely operate a variety of machinery and equipment within the packaging hall.
Carry out product and can size changeovers in line with standard operating procedures.
Perform basic maintenance on packaging equipment.
Conduct quality control checks to ensure compliance with all food safety and product quality standards.
Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic working environment.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the department.
Skills & Behaviours:
A valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence is desirable. Works with energy, accuracy, and a strong sense of responsibility. A team player who actively supports colleagues. Flexible and positive approach to change. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Eagerness to learn and develop new skills.
