Job Description

Production Operator To be individually responsible for the safe manufacture of product to set specifications. To monitor the production process, respond to abnormal or out of specification situations and relay problems beyond operator's area of knowledge to appropriate persons.Essential Functions:To manufacture high performance cable to within specification following approved procedures.To maintain high levels of output in line with manufacturing requirements.To preserve product quality through care and attention to detail in line with manufacturing standards and defined procedures.To maximise plant efficiency and look after equipment.To maintain high standards of workplace organisation in line with Lean practices.To be 100% compliant with site HSE standards and procedures and to be comfortable and confident in raising and discussing any issues with colleagues and all levels of management.To comply with all policies and procedures for the control and prevention of accidents.To report any accident/incident which has the potential to lead to a major accident.Contribute process/plant knowledge and experience to Risk Assessments when required in order to maximise HSE performance.Understand and follow all emergency procedures.To be a highly disciplined Operator, fully compliant with all rules and procedures working to established quality standards.To maintain good written standards and communicate well with colleagues and others in the business.To work with and support the Production Supervisor, Process Team Leaders and other members of the shift teams, to promote effective working practices.To share a vision of our future and be receptive to the need to change and grow the business, accepting a philosophy of continuous improvement in everything we do.To complete training and development as required, maintaining current documentation for the area in which they are assigned.Education, Knowledge, Skills, Training and Experience:

  • Good GCSE's or equivalent (English & Maths)
  • Manufacturing experience essential
  • Experience of shift work desirable
  • The ability to work under pressure in a self-managed team environment
  • Lean manufacturing and continuous process experience desirable
  • Basic computer skills
  • Good team player
This is a fast paced manufacturing role within a factory environment.Working HoursShift work Monday to Friday 37.5 hours (06.00am-14.00pm, 14.00pm-22.00pm & 22.00pm-06.00am). Shifts rotate backwards meaning operators will work a week on nights then a week on afternoons then a week on mornings before returning to nights.SalaryBasic salary plus shift allowance of 3,338 per annum.Job Types: Full-time, PermanentSalary: From 21,661.00 per yearBenefits:
