Production Planner - Brough - 28,000 - 33,000 + Benefits
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Production Planner to take ownership of planning and scheduling activities across our manufacturing operations. You will play a key role in ensuring products are delivered on time and to the highest standards, while effectively managing production schedules, materials, and resources. Purpose of the Role
To plan and coordinate the production of assigned product groups, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards are met. The role involves managing production schedules, monitoring inventory levels, and supporting the wider team through effective communication and reporting on key performance indicators (KPIs) and risks.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate production schedules in line with customer orders, inventory, and capacity.
Adjust schedules in response to delays or shifts in demand.
Work closely with all operational departments to ensure plan alignment.
Liaise with Engineering to highlight schedule changes that could affect delivery.
Publish open order book schedules for customers as required.
Monitor material levels to ensure seamless production flow.
Recommend changes to safety stock, resource needs, and schedule modifications.
Raise purchase orders using the MRP system, applying both standard and blanket orders as appropriate.
Evaluate minimum order quantities (MOQs) against pricing to minimise costs while maintaining lean inventory.
Coordinate with production and logistics to allocate resources effectively.
Respond to customer deferment and expedition requests where feasible.
Release production work orders to manufacturing.
Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to forecast future production based on trends and customer demand.
Monitor production costs and recommend cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
Produce reports on production output, stock levels, and resource usage.
Maintain accurate factory master data for wider business visibility.
Support and contribute to initiatives focused on improving efficiency, reducing waste, and optimising operations.
Person Specification
Level 3 qualification in Procurement & Supply Operations, Engineering, Business Administration or similar.
Minimum 1 years' experience in production planning, manufacturing, or a related role.
Able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Experience with MRP systems (preferably Factory Master).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Sound understanding of production processes, inventory management, and supply chain principles.
