We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Production Planner to join our food manufacturing team. Working with the Creative Director, Production Manager, Distribution, Sales and Production team, this is a key role in the business to coordinate production, deal with any issues and ensure our products made to the highest of quality and delivered to our customer when they need them.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production schedules to optimise efficiency, minimise downtime, and ensure timely delivery of products.
Responsibilities
Planning production, leading morning production briefs, sorting out any issues such as missing ingredients or staff sickness, monitoring production throughout the day, updating plans daily, tracking products through production to end product, ensuring any issues are remedied and standards are adhered to
Co-ordinating with Sales and Distribution to alter production plans as/when needed and communicating and organising changes with production team
Working closely with the Production manager to get the plan completed, scheduling cleaning, staff training and maintenance.
Ordering ingredients and production necessities identifying any short deliveries
Staff rota -co ordinating and recording holidays/leave/absences to ensure production runs smoothly
Monitor production progress, identify potential delays or bottlenecks, and implement corrective actions promptly.
Continuous improvement initiatives, documenting changes and training to support production manager
Quality control - Coordinate with teams to uphold product standards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Assist in process improvement projects aimed at enhancing manufacturing efficiency and product quality. This might mean creating product sheets for production, running factory trials, taking initiative to make production smoother for everyone
Maintain accurate documentation of schedules, changes, and production metrics
Support sales and distribution by providing timely updates on production timelines and resource availability.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with experience in food manufacturing, that is looking to take on responsibility and help lead in this challenging role
Confident with computers, with excel and learning the Stock Management / Distribution system
Strong understanding of supply chain management principles and processes.
Knowledge of manufacturing workflows.
Ability to implement process improvements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Familiarity with quality control standards within a manufacturing environment.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively under pressure.
Strong communication skills to liaise across multiple departments effectively.
Previous experience in a production planning or scheduling role is important. This position offers an engaging work environment where you will make a difference
