Production Planner

Job Description

As Production Planner, you will be responsible for ensuring that manufacturing schedules are aligned with customer demand, materials availability, and operational capacity. You will work closely with Production, Procurement, and Engineering to drive efficiency and ensure on-time delivery.

  • Developing and maintaining production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements.
  • Collaborating with Procurement and Stores teams to ensure materials availability for planned builds.
  • Monitoring capacity, lead times, and work orders, adjusting plans to optimise output and reduce bottlenecks.
  • Supporting new product introductions (NPIs) and coordinating build readiness with cross-functional teams.
  • Analysing data and providing reporting on production performance, schedule adherence, and inventory levels.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy and operational efficiency.
  • Working with ERP/MRP systems to manage and maintain planning data and work orders.
Previous Production Planning Experience Required Competitive salary & package
  • Experience in a production planning, materials planning, or scheduling role within manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, ideally in a low-volume, high-precision or engineering environment.
  • Excellent organisational and analytical skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams (production, procurement, engineering, and sales).
  • A background in electronics, mechanical, or scientific manufacturing would be advantageous.
