Mission/Purpose of the Jo
The Production Planner manages all Final Production and Master planning for the Eastbourne site. The main objective of this role is to align the production plan with customer demand and drive this through to output. The Production Planner will be a SAP and Kinaxis Maestro champion, striving for accuracy and transparency across the planning cycle and production facility
Create executable production plans in line with growth plans
Act as the single point of contact for information to external and internal customers
Support the Planning Manager in creating accurate and achievable Master Plans aligned with business goals
Highlight variances (over and under) in demand and production and suggest mitigation
KPI reporting
Main Responsibilitie
To be the single point of contact for the customer centres, logistics, procurement and production with regards to accurate production and despatch dates.
Actively investigate variance between the plan and output, putting continuous improvement measures in place to safeguard against future variances.
To be the single point of contact for external customers, liaising with production to proactively communicate shortages and escalating where necessary.
Align with key production Stake Holders to validate the production plan inline with the agreed growth target
Proactively advise the need for further resource, overtime and/or subcontract by identifying demand that overreaches capacity.
Embed NPI schedules from Engineering into production plans ensuring NPI stage gates and CSD are met
Manage exceptions (eg machine failures etc) into the production plan, communicating impacts to the wider business, prioritizing activities and issuing recovery plans.
Optimize factory planning process alongside the Planning Manager, flagging process efficiencies and taking ownership to roll them out to the team.
Maintain planning and master data within SAP and Kinaxis Maestro to ensure system and planning accuracy.
Maintain and champion the Eastbourne Master Planning Tool, refreshing monthly in line with new supply, labour and machine information.
Review and report OTD, schedule adherence, output value and any other appropriate KPIs
Support the Planning Manager in carrying out any other appropriate duties
Skills / Knowledge / Experienc
Required
Demonstrable experience in planning a manufacturing facility
ERP package experience (ideally SAP or Kinaxis Maestro)
Strong Microsoft office skills, especially Excel
Excellent inter-personal skills
Clear and concise communicator
Ability to produce, read and react to KPIs effectively
A background in Master planning
Desirable
Experience communicating with global markets
Vacuum science experience
Electronics and PCA manufacturing processes
Knowledge in Power Bi
Lean Six-Sigma training yellow belt or higher or relevant and demonstrable experience
