Challenge Packaging is a specialist in corrugated packaging design and manufacture. We work hard to ensure our cardboard box supply is as efficient as possible and extend that methodology into packaging supplies to offer a full service to our customers.

We have one vacancy for a Production Planner working 40 hours per week (working hours are between the hours of 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, Monday to Friday with one-hour break).

General description of the job

The Production Planner/Scheduler is a diverse position covering the planning, scheduling, releasing, and tracking of workflow from the sales department and through the manufacturing department. The Production Planner will schedule workflow and operations according to previously established manufacturing sequences taking into account first time orders and new manufactured orders.

Main duties

Schedule for production, preparing production schedules for manufacturing. Make sure each operation meets shipping dates according to sales forecasts and/or customer orders. Monitor the status of assigned work orders and projects, Support operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Ordering raw material from suppliers. Ensuring that RTN's are raised with suppliers and material is disposed of once a credit has been agreed. Interact with shop floor management on a daily basis to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies. Using CRM daily to record material rejects and short delivery orders. Administration functions within Operations department when required. Provide cover as required for other members of the operations team to ensure continuity of service. Working closely with transport to ensure orders are made on time.
