Consolidated Timber Holdings (CTH) Ltd is a UK market leading group of customer focused, innovative and forward thinking companies, supplying sustainable timber products to the construction and joinery markets, mainly across the UK and Ireland. Today the Group consists of the industry trusted and established businesses, Falcon Timber and CTH Manufacturing, formed as a result of the joining together of Triesse and Hoffman Thornwood. We currently have over 300 employees operating out of 8 distribution depots, 3 manufacturing sites and our Head Office at the Port of Tilbury.

We are seeking a Production Planner to join our well established site in Sherburn in Elmet, supporting the Production Facility with all matters relating to Production Scheduling.

What is the main purpose of this role?

The Production Planner is responsible for the planning and scheduling of all production orders, ensuring fulfilment of customer orders on time and in full (OTIF). Providing support and daily updates to the Production Manager raising any issues or challenges within the production process which could be relating to machine capability, materials and labour resource.

What are the Core Responsibilities and Expectations of a Production Planner?

Work with the Production Manager and Sales on orders that are required urgently to plan into the production scheduling system to achieve a positive outcome. Provide daily updates to the Production Manager of orders ready to be despatched through the planning/scheduling system. Complete a daily report on all machine activity and capacity and share with the Production Manager and Site Director. Ensure maintenance of Microsoft Business Central (BC) to capture all relevant data. Manage site stock, from raw material to finished goods within the system. Provide information on stock shortages and issues and assist with investigations and query resolution. Ensure all teams are kept up to date on any issues or manufacturing problems which may affect OTIF. Spend time in the factory actively checking and monitoring current status of orders.

What are we looking for in a candidate?

Experience working in fast paced manufacturing operation, ideally in a timber based planning capacity. Well developed problem solving skills and ability to prioritise effectively Sound IT and systems ability to record and track progress. A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to be flexible. Good communication skills, able to work collaboratively across a diverse group of people.
