We are looking for an experienced Production Planner to organize production according to demand and quality standards. You will need to ensure our goods are produced on time for distribution in a profitable manner.
Working closely and reporting in to the Production manager, you will need to be well-versed in production procedures and look for ways to optimise them to ensure the smooth and cost-efficient flow of our production operations. You will need to be organised and results-driven with great problem-solving skills. Advanced communication and computer skills are essential.
Responsibilities
As a production planner, you will need to:
Coordinate production workflow for multiple products
Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay
Determine manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
Monitor jobs to ensure they will finish on time and within budget
Address issues when they arise aiming for minimum disruption
Obtain output information (number of finished products, percentage of defectives etc.)
Prepare and submit status and performance reports
Keep paperwork organized
Collaborate with quality control, warehouse and other staff
Within expected timeframes, communicate in advance with internal stakeholders (Sales) the expected completion and despatch dates for customer orders so that they can in turn provide this information to the customer
Monitor lead times within a defined maximum duration for each product line.
Identify constraints and bottlenecks within the system to improve lead time.
Develop the systems and role to enable the rapid growth of the production output
Desirable skills
You will be expected to have:
Proven experience as production planner
Excellent knowledge of production planning and quality control principles
Proficient in the use of MS Excel
MS Office Suite, and a knowledge of MRP principles
Good at math and statistics
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication abilities
Working Hours
:
You will be expected to work around 40 hours a week, whilst being flexible to ensure that production deadlines are met.
Salary
Starting salaries of up to 30,000 per annum depending on experience
Bonus
Pension provided 3 months after full time employment commences
20 days holiday per annum plus bank holidays
