About the Role


We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to join our manufacturing and assembly operations team. In this front-line role, you will play a key part in driving projects forward, ensuring safety, quality, and continuous improvement across our processes. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, Planning, Quality, Supply Chain, and Maintenance to meet project deadlines and business objectives.

This is a permanent full-time position working 39 hours a week Monday - Friday.

Key Responsibilities



Leadership & Team Management



Coordinate and monitor day-to-day project activities on the shop floor. Lead and empower Production Team Leaders to deliver operational excellence. Provide coaching, development, and structured appraisals to help team members reach their full potential. Drive adherence to company policies, procedures, and values.

Operational Performance & Planning



Plan resources and materials to meet production demands in advance. Track project progress using management tools and escalate issues when needed. Support the implementation of new products and processes. Manage catch-back activities to minimise disruption.

Health, Safety & Quality Assurance



Drive a safety-first culture, ensuring all health & safety protocols are followed. Lead problem-solving and root cause analysis to address production issues and reduce scrap/rework. Engage the team in waste reduction, recycling, and sustainability initiatives.

Communication & Collaboration



Establish effective communication across all levels, ensuring clarity of expectations and feedback. Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to enhance workflow. Attend and contribute to key meetings to support business objectives.

People & Performance Management



Ensure team skill levels are maintained using RPS skills matrices. Conduct Back-to-Work interviews and support disciplinary processes when required. Maintain accurate record-keeping in both paperwork and digital systems.

What We're Looking For



ILM/CMI Level 3 or equivalent leadership qualification. Minimum 2 years in a Team Leader role (desirable). Proven experience in a manufacturing or assembly environment. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organisational and time management abilities. High attention to detail and quality focus. Proficiency in MS Office and project tracking tools (e.g., MS Project, Excel). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of lean manufacturing or Six Sigma (advantageous). Solution-oriented and proactive decision-maker. Skilled in conflict resolution and fostering collaboration.
