AMG are looking for a Production Shift Manager to join the operations team to manage manufacturing functions in accordance with business objectives. Working in a team of 4 Shift Managers you will also have an opportunity to propose, discuss and implement changes to processes and systems that will enhance manufacturing performances.

Shift Pattern:

4 on (DDNN), 4 off

Salary:

56,505.00 including shift allowances

Duties



Support the Production and Operations Managers to develop daily planning and management of the manufacturing functions in line with forecasted volumes Coach, lead and develop teams; carry out 121's, performance reviews and other HR duties Ensure products are produced on time, are of high quality and are dispatched on time to meet customer requirements Attend production/planning meetings and translate and communicate priorities and targets to direct reports and ensure feedback is provided throughout the shift on adherence to the plan. Drive a culture of continuous improvement with clear focus on quality, safety, productivity and yields Optimise plant uptime by scheduling in maintenance requirements that fit best to avoid production downtime, working closely with Maintenance Supervisors Ensure Stock integrity with regular PI checks Ensure vital operating procedures are audited and reviewed regularly. Tight control of raw material inventory to reduce working capital Maintain control of waste streams and ensure that the correct packaging and labelling is being used Promote and drive consistency to ensure the delivery of excellent operational standards, including housekeeping across shifts Provide sufficient information, instruction and training to all reports to ensure competency levels are reached, skills matrices and training records and SWP's are kept up to date Accountable for driving departmental KPI's in line with business and production expectations Provide detailed shift handover notes to colleagues and a shift summary to management team Update production plans to report on daily production and ensure all shift production bookings are processed in a timely manner into PALS Responsible for all H&S and quality audits including safety tours and routine safety observations, risk assessments, safe systems of work, detailed accident/incident investigation and route cause analysis including near misses and damage Management of emergency situations onsite such as adverse weather and evacuation if necessary Ensure all works order instructions are adhered to, and documentation is filled in accurately before being released from the department back to scheduling Perform first line problem solving on plant equipment and correct the problem or acquire maintenance attention

The Person



Educated to GCSE level in Maths and English (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent IOSH qualified Proven track record of at least two years managerial experience, in manufacturing operations Supervisory / shift working experience Ability to lead by example, working with the team whilst keeping a birds-eye view of the entire manufacturing functions Ability to maintain the highest possible standards and constantly improve operational systems Proven track record of leading a team to achieve business objectives and standards Excellent communication, organisation and planning skills Knowledge of manufacturing, health & safety and environmental procedures Good IT skills required (Microsoft Office package including Excel) Previous experience of managing a diverse workforce and developing people
