Senior Production Manager



Reporting Structure



Reports to: Production Operations Manager

Direct Reports: Production Line Supervisors & Operatives

Responsible for: All production line staff and operatives within your area of responsibility

Overall objectives



To effectively manage the production of products, by ensuring that all Legal, Food Safety, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Technical and Engineering requirements are maintained in accordance with statutory and customer requirements. To arrange the training and support of all direct and indirect subordinates as required, inline with the agreed production schedule.

Accountabilities



To ensure delivery of the agreed production schedule, food safety and quality objectives are always met. To deputise for the Production Manager when required. To ensure that Health and Safety is managed effectively in their area of responsibility, by means of Audits, toolkits, safe systems of work, risk assessments and support from the H&S Manager and Factory Managers. To produce products of the highest quality by ensuring that all quality and food safety procedures are followed (including paperwork, Marco system) To ensure that labour is effectively deployed for your shift. To ensure that all departmental KPI's are achieved and communicated as required. To assist the factory managers to plan, in conjunction with the logistics manager, the effective production of all products, ensuring maximum efficiency, customer service and minimal waste. To manage the entire processing and, in the absence of the packing manager, packing area (including frozen, chilled and ambient products) Be involved in long term strategic planning and present cost saving solutions as appropriate. Liaise with Technical, Engineering, Logistics, Accounts, Sales and NPD as required, to ensure the effective development and launch of new products. Ensure that the bakery maintains and improves audit scores by means of effective management of customer visits and compliance to recognised codes of practice. To insist that safe systems of work are followed, assisting in the development of new safe systems. Plan and manage internal and external communication and awareness of corporate direction, aims and activities Manage and develop direct reports. To assist with the production, communication and implementation of career development structures and competencies within the department To ensure that all direct and indirect reports comply with any reasonable requests of the business, by using training, coaching and disciplinary action where appropriate. Experience



Must have manufacturing experience (min 2 yrs) in the food industry (Bakery desirable) HACCP training (desirable) IOSH or equivalent (desirable)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 45,000.00-60,000.00 per year
