The Opportunity:



You'll be joining our amazing Operations team as Production Shift Supervisor on the 6am-2pm shift. Working within a fast paced environment, with a focus on continuous improvement, right in the heart beat of the business.

Job Purpose:



Supervise the overall day to day production, performance and co-ordination of the allocated shift to obtain maximum productivity, efficiency, quality, service and profitability for the Company while upholding all aspects of compliance and standards.

The Person:



The ideal candidate will bring with them Supervisory experience in Manufacturing with a GMP focus. They will be people oriented and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills. We at Expac have an integrated approach to teamworking and so the individual will be good at building positive relationships. Each day is different with a new set of challenges and therefore motivation and a positive attitude are the drivers for success.

Duties / Areas of Responsibility:



Ensure compliance of all current quality and safety systems with all direct reports Lead and manage employees to achieve the highest production standards in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's) Liaise and coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning and resource/skill allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications, in line with Lean Manufacturing principles Communicate job expectations to the team daily; planning, monitoring and appraising job results Train new and current employees as needed on equipment and work procedures and ensure all training records are kept up to date Ensure staff are focused on delivering key priorities through coaching and motivating employees Monitor production methods, equipment performance, product quality and submit recommendations and improvements through efficiency and cost measures to management Identify and immediately report any problems/failures that may impact on the Company and/or its clients/customers to the Production Manager so as to ensure deadlines are still met, without compromising quality Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures Maintain workflow by monitoring steps of the process; monitoring personnel and resources; implementing cost reductions wherever it's possible Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, while maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures Work positively with support functions to fully define the processes/procedures/controls relevant to team activities Provide support and input to continuous improvement activities within the team Collaborate with other supervisors to ensure smooth handovers between shifts Compile production reports on a daily basis to be shared with management

Skills & Attributes:



Team leadership attributes, demonstrated in previous roles Strong understanding of manufacturing workflow and machinery Excellent leadership and people management skills Highly organised and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong problem solving skills and ability to make quick, effective decisions under pressure Detail orientated and able to maintain accurate records Proficiency in MS Office and industry related software
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 15.20 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 37.5 per week

Ability to commute/relocate:

Preston: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:

Manufacturing/Management: 2 years (preferred) Manufacturing & Utilities Occupations: 2 years (preferred)
