Eurokey Recycling Ltd have been part of The Reconomy Group since March 2021, as such we are now able to utilise the groups services and be able to offer our customers a wider offering to help them with their recycling requirements. Having had over 27 years' experience are market leaders within our field and are now experiencing a period of organic growth and will be opening a multi-million-pound bespoke facility in Kettering, Northamptonshire. We will be the only company in the UK that can offer a genuine solution to process single polymer plastic packaging which in turn will reduce the need to export. Our UK facility fully open and we are looking for enthusiastic people to join our team.

The role of Production Shift Supervisor will be pivotal to ensure the smooth running of the facility and ensuring that production figures are achieved.

This role requires strong leadership to motivate a long night shift in a fast paced and changing environment ensuring performance and efficiency of the plant is maintained and improved. Having a sense of urgency will be key to this role as well. This role is not managing from a desk, you will be required to be out in the production area managing to ensure maximum tonnage and quality standards are achieved.

Core Duties - but not exhaustive to:



Leading by example by driving the process forward to maximise production; Tonnage, Availability, Recovery and quality whilst maintaining high levels of Health & Safety.

Oversee site safety for staff and contractors with the support of the Health and Safety Manager.

Supervise day to day production of a bespoke sorting facility ensuring that daily targets are met from a physical perspective, giving support to the Control Room Manager.

'Step-Up' in the absence of the Control Room Manager and take full responsibility/ charge for the production on shift.

Liaise with the Yard & Stock Control Manager with regards to infeed requirement and what outfeed has been produced to enable a streamlined planning process.

Be able to plan ahead and adapt quickly with changing business demands within a fast-paced processing facility.

Be able to follow up instructions that have been given to staff to ensure that work has been carried out to our required standards.

Report issues to maintenance team and ensuring that they provide full support throughout the shift.

As Production Supervisor it is your part responsibility to ensure all elements of the production team are proactive and accountable for the entire shift on the shop floor.

Help to manage the day-to-day site operation and coordinate teams effectively, liaising with departments or suppliers - in the event of a major problem that could potentially affect production, escalate to the Production Manager, Control Room Manager & Maintenance Manager.

Liaise with agency on staffing requirements to ensure targets are met, manage staff numbers and training, giving strength and flexibility in the relevant areas.

Ensure that all safe systems of work are followed and completed with the guidance/ support of the Health & Safety Manager.

Ensure all necessary work equipment & PPE is provided and adequate for purpose and used correctly.

To ensure that the control room has relevant information for the handover report detailing block of shifts.

Take full responsibility of the Plant Performance/ Production alongside the Control Room Manager.

Ensure quality is monitored throughout the shift and any drops in quality are identified, reported and troubleshooted - Both infeed and plant output.

Help support with internal communications via teams/ email & phone.

Highlight and report staffing issues.

Ensure staff are up to standard and updated with SOPs, SSOWs and changes in procedures.

Learn & operate the fixed plant SCADA interface/ system to enable cover during staff absences.

Update and complete Production checklist alongside Control Room Manager.

Highlight and report contamination issues.

Skills Required



Proven recycling industry background would be a distinct advantage.

Proven experience in supervising a production/ processing facility.

Experience in a fast-paced environment with proven evidence.

Be able to react and resolve problems quickly in the absence of senior management but in line with company policy.

Escalation skills.

The ability to take the initiative and make decisions in high pressure situations.

Have excellent communication skills with all departments (Escalation).

Strong motivational skills are required with a focus on sense of urgency.

Proven strong leadership skills.

Attention to detail is essential, when compiling data for reports.

Flexible towards hours and full commitment to the role.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 28,000.00-30,000.00 per year
