The role is predominately MONDAY TO THURSDAY 10 hour shifts with occasional Friday overtime



Job Overview



DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:



Team Lead:



Lead, motivate and develop your team to ensure planned output and quality standards are met;

In conjunction with the Production Manager, review team performance regularly to identify areas for improvement ensuring that they meet the skill and quality standards required;

Organise and monitor breaks in line with Company policy

Monitor absence levels and address inefficiencies;

As authorised by the Production Manager, organize and monitor overtime within cost parameters;

Ensure all time and attendance records are checked and passed to the Production Manager for authorisation;

Ensure the team are provided with all the relevant information required to carry out their shift to maximum effect;

Conduct disciplinary processes including investigation and hearing with the authority to discipline to verbal warning.

Production:



Achieve shift KPI targets e.g. for line efficiencies, material usage variances and absenteeism etc;

Assist the Production Manager to plan the department workload;

Monitor the stock of materials and ensure orders are placed in a timely manner to avoid downtime;

Minimise waste by using/disposing of raw materials and consumable items efficiently;

Accurately complete all required shift paperwork for compliance against ISO and site-specific quality and health & safety standards;

Ensure continuous improvement at all times.

Equipment & Maintenance:



Ensure all machinery, components and tools are fit for purpose and comply with preventative and planned maintenance;

Contribute to the planning, organisation, operation and installation of all new processes and equipment within the factory.

Quality, Health & Safety:



Ensure that non-conforming material is clearly identified and segregated;

Ensure that the escalation procedure for quality concerns is followed;

Perform root cause analysis and resolve problems;

Monitor the working area to ensure that the team comply with the highest levels of housekeeping and adherence to health and safety standards;

Assist in the completion of site safety inspections and audits as and when required;

To ensure that all start up procedures are checked and completed on a daily basis.

Other tasks:



To be courteous at all times when speaking to customers and suppliers either on or off site;

To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job;

To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job;

Any other reasonable task as required by the Senior Management team.

Experience



Proven experience in a supervisory role within the food industry or food processing plant is preferred. Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, HACCP principles, CGMP practices, and food safety standards. Familiarity with food production processes, sanitation requirements, and packaging operations. Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot equipment issues effectively. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Strong communication skills to interact effectively with staff at all levels.
