Job Description

We are recruiting on behalf of a well-established and respected manufacturing client based in Mildenhall, Suffolk. The Welding Assembly Area Supervisor is responsible for managing and coordinating welding and assembly operations to ensure efficient production, high-quality output, and adherence to safety standards. This role involves supervising a team of welders and assemblers, monitoring workflows, and ensuring compliance with project specifications and deadlines.

Key Responsibilities:



Team Supervision: Lead, train, and motivate a team of welders, assemblers, and support staff, ensuring effective collaboration and performance. Production Oversight: Plan, schedule, and monitor welding and assembly activities to meet production goals and quality standards. Quality Control: Inspect welds and assembled components to ensure they meet engineering specifications, industry standards, and company quality requirements. Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols, ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintain a safe work environment Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements in welding and assembly processes to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality. Equipment Maintenance: Oversee the maintenance and proper operation of welding equipment, tools, and machinery to minimize downtime. Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory of materials, tools, and supplies required for welding and assembly tasks. Reporting & Documentation: Maintain production records, prepare reports on output, quality, and safety metrics, and communicate progress to management. Problem Resolution: Address and resolve production issues, equipment malfunctions, or personnel conflicts promptly to maintain workflow. Training & Development: Conduct training sessions for new hires and ongoing skill development for team members in welding techniques and assembly processes. Staff appraisal: Evaluate employee performance, set goals, and provide constructive feedback.

Experience & Skills Required:



Strong knowledge of welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, ARC) and assembly processes. Leadership and team management skills. Proficiency in reading technical drawings, and specifications. Familiarity with quality control standards and safety regulations. Problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 30,000.00-35,000.00 per year
