The Role



We're looking for a skilled and driven Production Supervisor to take ownership of day-to-day performance on the shop floor. You'll lead a team of machinists, operators and apprentices across multiple manufacturing areas - keeping work moving, supporting problem-solving, and making sure we deliver right first time, on time.

You'll be working in a varied and technical environment that includes CNC turning, milling, thread rolling, cable and harness assembly, and the production of streamline wires and arrestor ropes. We do precision work, often in small batches, where strong leadership and attention to detail make the difference.

As Production Supervisor, you'll be the bridge between planning and production, helping to translate schedules into action and ensuring standards are upheld across every shift. You'll also play a key role in supporting 5S, training, health & safety, and continuous improvement initiatives.

This role is ideal for someone confident in leading from the front, with a solid background in precision engineering or assembly. You'll need to be calm under pressure, practical in your decision-making, and committed to getting the best out of people and processes.

Key Responsibilities



Coordinate daily production activities in line with planning schedules to meet delivery, quality, and cost targets Implement and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in compliance with EN9100 Lead 5S and GMP initiatives, including weekly audits and continuous improvement projects to ensure all areas are clean and well-organised. Own health and safety standards across the production floor Ensure all production staff are properly trained and that apprentices are following structured development plans Contribute to the creation of visual KANBAN systems, tracking weekly output and scrap targets Support New Product Introduction (NPI) and First Article Inspection (FAIR) processes Act as manufacturing authority on the Material Review Board (MRB), ensuring scrap is recorded and rework is assigned, and assisting Product Quality Supervisor with root cause and corrective actions where necessary. Communicate clearly with Planning and Maintenance teams to manage workloads, capacity, and unplanned downtime Take responsibility for key production metrics, driving accountability across the team Manage absence, performance, and day-to-day team objectives professionally and proactively

What We're Looking For



Experience supervising in a high-precision manufacturing environment (aerospace preferred but not essential) Strong understanding of lean manufacturing, 5S, and quality systems. HNC/HND in Engineering or related field, or time-served apprenticeship/ equivalent experience Confident communicator with a practical, team-oriented approach Knowledge of ERP systems and shop floor data collection a plus
