Yarde Farm ice cream is based in Plympton Devon, just outside of Plymouth. Our story began in 1987 when a tub was filled expectantly with our very first ice cream at Yarde Farm. A bit about the role:



The Factory Supervisor is there to oversee and coordinate the daily factory activities. As a supervisor you will implement production, productivity, quality and customer service standards to achieve the appropriate level of volume within time limits. The Factory Supervisor should be able to ensure that daily operations meet and exceed daily performance expectation. You will assist the Factory Manager in managing, recruiting and developing their team in order to deliver a high quality and efficient service to customers.

This role includes:



Overseeing the daily workings of factory operations (This includes its buildings, equipment, fixtures and fittings, its security and safety and its amenities).

The supervision of all employees within its department to ensure their compliance with company standards on matters of safety and food hygiene, good working practices, quality, attendance, performance and timekeeping. To ensure the smooth running of the allocated factory activity, ensuring appropriate resources (people, equipment) are available to meet planned activity levels Monitoring staff performance levels, providing feedback on achievement to the factory manager and helping to identify improvement opportunities. Proactively make sure that good management practice and all processes are followed in order to ensure the health and safety of our employees and customers. Training and developing team to deliver to required levels. To support a flexible supportive adjunct to the management team in the cost-effective running of the organisation. Ensure that all stock is controlled and rotated according to the Company Food Safety and Quality Manual. Ensure that all products are labelled according to Company specifications and legal requirements. Initiate Product Recall Deputise on behalf of line manager as and when required and undertaken additional duties if necessary Key holder

You'll have:



Excellent people management skills, able to motivate and engage others to deliver excellent service and performance
Previous food industry experience is essential in an equivalent position

Basic Food Hygiene and Health & Safety

HACCP Certification

You will have the ability to build effective working relationships with different groups, as well as a willingness to contribute extra effort and energy to co-operate with others in depot. Dynamic personality with go-ahead ideas and can-do attitude. Problem Solving Skill and the ability to offer solutions
Computer literacy (Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook) and SAP if possible,
